Friday the 13th

Number 4 turns 12 today.

We do not have any birthday traditions, but we'll normally get a cake and have a family meal on that special day. Togetherness and gratitude.

Her cake this year is a moist chocolate cake with ganache topping, made by my lecturer-turned-baker friend, Jean Perera.

Next year Number 4 will be starting high school, becoming a teenager, learning more about the world.
