Micro Credit

Currently I am mid-way in the delivery of 2 micro-credits:
  • Ethics and Digital Citizenship (EDC)
  • Intellectual Property and Me (IPM)
Altogether there were 4 students, one for EDC and 3 for IPM. Not that many but not too bad for a start.

I remembered the day when our Business Management programme had one student, and I happen to be one of his lecturers. He was a compliant student, thank goodness.. and ever so patient, because he was the sole student in every class!

Anyway, how does one prepare to teach a micro-credit?

It can be taught synchronously, asynchronously, or using mixed mode (sync-async).

I had designed the modules 90% asynchronously and 10% face-to-face. For both modules. It was a challenge but it was a useful learning experience... and might I say that it improved my teaching in the synchronous/ mainstream programmes.

Format:
Pre-recorded lectures
End of unit discussion points (weekly meetings)
Quiz
