Breadmaker

During the MCO/ quarantine period I had bought a breadmaker. Since then I have made a couple of bread types and some cakes. Personally I prefer the consistency of batter which has been beaten by a mixer, but the breadmaker's handiwork is not too bad either. It is most convenient because the ingredients can just be poured in (in the order mentioned in the manual) and in 3 hours you have a freshly made bread (1.5 hours for cake). No mixer needed and cleaning up is quite a breeze.

Well I won't likely be a masterchef anytime soon (or in this lifetime, for that matter), but at least I'm able to feed the children. They seem to enjoy the food- it is edible, although not fantastic. In time I hope to be able to refine and add some variety to the recipe 'template'.

I definitely have hubby to thank, as he has been encouraging me to cook.. and he eats my meals no matter how simple or terrible-tasting. Well, my dishes are now in the "reasonable-tasting" phase so some small improvements can indeed be seen. For this I am endlessly thankful. He gives me "A" for effort. [This is totally a confidence-booster, since his family members are either "good" or "great" cooks 🙈]

So here's to a newfound skill (I still don't like cooking that much), and for continuous improvement.
