Goodbye 2007

Another few hours and 2007 will be no more. I had my children organise their things just now. All textbooks are wrapped- names have been stamped on the exercise books & all stationery have been inventoried. My OCD has kicked in and I can't stop.

Am looking forward to a quiet NY- will sleep early and ignore the fireworks when they do light up the skies. Tomorrow I'll wake up early for a change and enjoy driving the empty KL streets. How's that for a change?

Destructive Relationships

You'd think that a person has got it made but when you scratch the surface a lot can be uncovered. ML has faithfully served her husband and family for almost all of her life. We go to her house once a year and she is a picture of happiness and gratitude. Raised the old school way, she'd never think of disobeying her husband to follow her passion.

At times I wonder, what IS her passion? I guess she makes time to do her favourite things- I would surmise that gardening may be one of it (or not- I'm the worst reader of people). She would find the time to garden after she has cooked breakfast for her family, babysit her boisterous grandchildren, cleaned the house & pretty much ran the world.

She wanted to come with Umi to Kelantan, never having been there before. Yet she did not get clearance from hubby- one day without ML will render the family crippled I suppose.

In her own way she has found fulfilment, doing what she does best... serving others. And that may not be a bad thing, actually (or is it?)

Conditions

If only life is simple, easy and straightforward. But where's the fun in that?

We can't go back to Kelantan because of the flood... and it's a pretty mean one. Umi is undecided, for reasons that only Umi can explain. Our holiday plan is Batu Pahat, AGAIN! Oh well, as least the children will enjoy themselves.
