"Up"lifting?
In the movie "Up", a man seeks out to fulfil his wife's lifelong wish of adventure & he ended up taking an adventure of his own. The movie, in my thought, smacks of chauvinism. Ellie's character is full of life and the spirit of adventure, yet she surrendered her dreams to be with a risk-averse husband. She died with one ultimate dream unfulfilled and towards the end, the movie justified the act of marriage to this man as being an adventure in itself (huh??).
Of course the main character is the man himself and an adventurer from his past etc2 but I couldn't help to think what Ellie could have made of herself had she made different choices, or had she pushed harder for the adventure. It is a scary thought, a life unfulfilled.
