If only Life is Literal That Way

I like playing the occasional online games. To hubby, I spend too much time on it. And eventually my handphone cannot cope with all the updates and I had to uninstall the game. It's Homescapes and Gardenscapes, just so you know, nothing complicated or terrifically fantastic.

In comparison, I used to play Final Fantasy 7 to 13, and stopped after the storyline became blah. To play with the children, I picked up Kingdom Hearts and at one point, Angry Birds. I was too darn busy during the MCO to pick up Among Us, which the children were playing... and maybe I am just too old and no longer interested that much in games anymore.

So sometimes when I borrow my children's ipad I would play Homescapes. They haven't deleted the game yet so I play it once in a blue moon. When you haven't played for a long time, there are always great rewards like unlimited weapons and play time. Two days ago I played for an hour and collected more than 10,000 coins (from the initial 1720 coins). Not too bad for a game. If only in life we can do that [DREAM ON LAH!]

This is where we get enticed by get rich quick schemes or investment scams. Because we think life gives us something for nothing. It doesn't. Life is struggle. Know that. Understand that thoroughly. We will get through life when we work for it, and we do get what we deserve. Sometimes we do not get what we want but what we need. God is very fair.

Hence, thank you for the games. I have enjoyed playing them. Now I move on to other things, like writing, and blogging, and video recording. I do pray and hope that I have enough years in me to continue to do the things I want to do. If not, I hope I have done enough good for myself my children my family and for others, to make My Creator pleased with me and allow me a comfortable afterlife.

I remembered one music video recorded by Beyonce. At the beginning there was a short excerpt of an interview, asking her what does she want in life. She replied with "I want to be happy". That's not a bad goal to strive for, Queen B!

Becoming an Independent Woman

I should probably do a course on this.

I am too independent to a fault.

I know I should be more reliant sometimes, and make hubby feel needed.

However there is a balance between making someone feel needed, and calling him/ asking EVERY time I need some help. There are just some things that I can and should decide for myself.

Where to buy sugho? There's shopee.com; and FB Marketplace.

Alaaaaa, tak tau la sedap ke tak.. > Read the reviews, baca fahamkan dan buat keputusan woman!

For your work related matters, call your peers, or colleagues. You must know SOMEONE.

Don't keep calling my husband for every little thing lah.

You have your husband too. Tanyalah dia jugak.

Ni tidak, tanya suami orang pulak. Suka-suka bila-bila engkau nak call eh???

Impermanence (Part 1)

In principle, everything that is on the cloud will stay there forever unless of course its data centre burns down OVHcloud data centre fire.

Hence paper-based storage may still be relevant to some extent, unless (again) if there is flooding or earthquake or fire (or human negligence) destroys these documents. Same case as the data centre. It could equally be damaged by natural disasters.

I watched a movie called The Book of Eli once, about a man (Eli, played by actor Densel Washington) who had memorised the Bible. When the Bible was completely destroyed he was able to recite it from memory, for another man to re-write the content. Muslims have this practice too, there are many "hafiz" around the world, who holds the Quran's words in their hearts and minds.

What is my point?
- Nothing is permanent. Cloud storage may theoretically last a longer time than human memory, but is threatened when natural (or unnatural) disasters occur.
- Humans can be reliable when we have to be. We transferred much data to the cloud because our brains and documents cannot hold massive volumes of everything, but if we work together we could piece together knowledge

Incidentally data centres are less environmentally friendly compared to humans. They just get too hot and may combust, like the story presented in the news report. Sweden, for one, is taking the initiative of using heat from the data centres to heat homes Making use of data centre heat.

The only permanent entity is the Almighty Creator, and to Him we shall return.

Purpose

There are 101 interesting professions or 'calling' that a person may get involved in; some are more common than others while some are really niche areas:
- Running coach
- Life coach
- Financial planner is common, however Financial Negotiator may be less common i.e. the one who represent others in making settlement with the 'alongs' (unauthorised money lenders)
- Pet-sitters/ House-sitters
- Dog/ Cat/ Horse/ Pet whisperers
- Customised pet groomers e.g. anime-themed
- Wilderness Guide
- SME Digitalisation Consultant
- Head hunter (not the Iban kind)
- Talent Manager
- Digital Empowerer (haha, this is a made-up name) > one that helps teach others how to use digital devices; or create apps that makes non digitally savvy lives better
- App Developers
- "Bum" = actually this was the story behind BUM the clothing line; the founder just wanted to surf all day and be dressed in a certain way hence giving birth to the business

SME Digitalisation Person is what I want to be, after I finish the PhD.

Currently my boys and girl are in limbo and staying at home. All have finished their diploma but lingering and probably trying to figure out what to do next. It is not easy not knowing what to do.

Somehow when I finished my degree I had clear choices: continue with Masters and be a lecturer OR do the professional certification and be a lawyer. I chose the latter. I ended up as a lecturer anyways but an unconventional one at it. This skillset will probably be useful someday somewhere, but right now I am focused on finishing the PhD and thereafter the consulting job beckons.

[There are possibly 5 other names that one can use to describe a 'consultant' so once I finish the PhD, I should think of  name card with a reasonable title, one preferably that does not contain the word "con" in it]

I am also interested to develop some apps:

-Wish List or Gift List = for birthdays or weddings a person or the pair chooses what he/ she/ they want and select it from a particular store or site = those who are his/ her/ their friends can select to contribute to part or all of the price. The recipient will receive a card e.g. "With warm wishes from A, B, C, D, E, F and so on" without identifying who bought what or paid how much

- My Calling or Career Planner = combo of RIASEC and MBTI and Multiple Intelligence and PEOPLE-DATA-THINGS and a proposed list of professions come out. It suggests the type of tasks that the person can try out to know about the profession; OR this connects to YT or Tik Tok channels that have short videos on "what to try out" OR to affiliates/ training centres that offer short courses

- Law Learner = I saw Putri Sofia's app but not really enthused by it. For this honestly I don't know what content to put or how the teaching will be done. Or even what topic. May something along the lines of Duolingo with parts/ units that highlight definitions, or basic law concepts
