Reality Check/ Expectations

Our sis in law celebrated her 11th wedding anniversary on 14 February... which means that I myself has been married close to 12 years to the same man. I won't trouble hubby or pester him to celebrate our union in any way, as I have come to accept that it (i.e. the celebration) probably will never happen. At the risk of sounding like a total lunatic, I'll only state that such celebrations are unnecessary- they only serve to remind you how old you are and how long you have been with the same person. On the same breath, I probably shouldn't celebrate my birthdays either.

From now on I'll live my life as a wife & mother and mourn (or deny) the gradual loss of my sense of self. By the way, could you tell my degree of depression just by the way I write? I'd better get to work as well, as this is the only time I can get anything done.

Terms & Conditions

Hubby received some vouchers in January for his purchase of supplements at one of the pharmacies here. While I was spring-cleaning earlier today I uncovered the vouchers and thought of using them. The fine print, however, stated that the vouchers are valid for SEVEN days after the date of issue- an information that was not offered by the cashier at the time.

ANYWAY, after having purchased RM400 worth of supplements you probably wouldn't go back to the same pharmacy to purchase more in the next 7 days, would you? Have I forgotten my legal training altogether? ALWAYS read the fine print, that's a lesson I should never ever forget.

Random Things about Me

This exercise originated from a note I received from a friend in Facebook. Once you're tagged, you're supposed to list down 25 things about you (e.g. facts, habits, goals/dreams etc) and tag another 25 people. I decided to respond in my FB note page- those who are in my friend list are welcome to read it- and since it was such a fun exercise, I decided to extend it to this blog.

1. Morning is my favourite time of day. I get depressed when dusk approaches.
2. I am most happy when I am chatting with my mother, and when I'm baking.
3. My ideal in life is to make a difference.
4. I prefer to work alone rather than in a team.
5. I don't know what my best feature is, neither do I care.
6. My worst fear is to end up old and broke.
7. I love to spend money, especially when I'm buying things for others.
8. I believe in the general 'goodness' of people.
9. Being in my 30s has enabled me to clarify my life purpose (somewhat).
10. My mind works best when it I'm in a quiet environment.
11. As a little girl, whenever I am upset with someone, I will write my thoughts about that person on a piece of paper and tear it up.
12. I talk to myself all the time, but not very loudly lest people think I have lost my marbles.
13. Rude drivers are my pet peeve.
14. I speak before I think, more than I think before I speak.
15. I am a creature of light. I hate being in dark places.
16. Activities that involve me jumping from high places I avoid, even if I am tied to a safety harness that will never break.
17. I naturally have a strong aversion to pain & perhaps a very low threshold of pain. How I managed to give birth to 4 children, God only knows.
18. Environmental conservation is my passion. I recycle on a regular basis, bring my own shopping bag to the supermarket (occasionally) and hope to own a Prius one day.
19. I don't really like children unless they're my own.
20. I'd prefer it if people (read: superiors) lets me do my job my own way, because I value my inividualism very much.
21. "Sorry" seems to be the hardest word- indeed.
22. A perfect afternoon is when it is raining/drizzling & I am in a quiet corner reading a book.
23. Coffee is my least favourite drink- but I do take the occasional latte blend.
24. I love the colour blue & secretly likes pink.
25. I like to keep most things to myself and do not like opening up to people. Blogging for me is a great achievement, but not many people know the existence of this blog so my world is not rocked so much. (Am I not a person of contradictions?)

There- 25- that's not too difficult after all..
